  • Tennessee Employment Projection

The employment projections for the state of Tennessee, contrary to what the numbers will tell you in the unemployment percentages, are simply not all that bleak. Tennessee is growing and changing at a remarkable rate and with it, jobs are growing as well.

Some of the companies which are currently laying off workers are expected to grow and to pick up later even this year, which means that some displaced workers may in fact be picked back up and replaced into the very jobs from which they were formerly released.
In addition to this, jobs which are showing remarkable growth are out there particularly in the telecommunications, customer service, tourism, and internet development, as well as transportation, and Information Technology, which is projecting a bit growth spurt in the next few years.
Jobs which are currently hiring are for the most part in service industries, such as tourism, hotel and motel management, but not, as one might suppose in the more low paying fast food industries, but in fact, in the more upscale service industries such as hotel management, housekeeping and other aspects of the larger hotels industry.
Medical jobs are on a sharp upsurge so if you’re interested in something new, a career in medicine, especially in nursing, nuclear medicine or Occupational therapy might just be the ticket to your financial future. These jobs also have the added advantage of being more secure from downsizing and layoffs.

As the saying goes, there will alwys be people who need doctors, nursing and hospitals so a future in this type career will be well paid, with for the most part good benefits and will be more secure from downsizing than the typical construction.
Truckdriving seems to be on the upswing in Tennessee, with many trucking companies seeking out drivers or teams of drivers to assure that they get the goods to where they need to be. Again, if you’re seeking out employment that will keep you working in a weak economy, Tennessee truck drivers seem to be a great deal in demand.
Tennessee worker may see some additional jobs in other fields that are brought about by a new legislation that was recently enacted in Tennessee. As of January any company which is found to be using illegal immigrants for their lower cost labor will have the option to fix that before they are caught and if they do not, their business license can be revoked for a short period of time for the first strike offense. Second strikes see the company losing its license for a period of up to one year.
In this instance many companies are seeking to remove their immigrants, or should be, and replacing them with legally in the U.S workers in an effort to be in compliance with those new laws and forestall damage to their company. Some companies will be seeking to hire new employees who are legally permitted to work in the United States and in so doing will add to the new jobs on the market this year.
